Verstümmelnhaßschlagen: The Sinner's guide to terrible and hurt.
Why mutilate? Why not swords?
Can you get four combo points instantly from any sword ability?
Can you spam finishing moves like no tomorrow?
Didn't think so, so shut the fuck up, put your swords down, and go carve some shanks out of your inmate-bitch's bed. It's assassination time.
This is the build you will use in your schemes. This is everything great and right in the world. This is the king of kings. If you don't use this, it is to be implied that you fail and you are lazy. Everything is talented for a reason, and if you don't understand those reasons you should Ctrl Alt Kill yourself. In essence, everything I say and do is right. It's good to know that we've established that point early.
www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/rogue/talents.html?0253001055021325010510000000000000000000000005500031300300000000000
Through careful planning and testing, Khellis and I have arrived at this final solution to the build. We originally were going to include everything as a two point talent in subtle, gaining 2/3 setup. I tested 3 point setup as a subtle rogue as of current.
It's good.
But it never procs, two points would make it completely worthless. Fail.
As such, I never used ambush on my rogue for the reason I knew that it never crit. If I had the three point talent, I would use it a lot more often. With this build using ambush has a chance of generating three points, two if you crit, one from initiative. 45% + 40% (remorseless) + (your crit chance here) = I HURT. That's good. ( `-`)b Your main function is to cheap shot, wait a second for a poison to kick on, (cold blood if available) mutilate, kidney shot, mutilate, and then~
Then what? Sinister strike? Nah, pshaw, a move for fools and the like. See at 70 sinister strike will no longer be a move you even look at or use. The first thing you will do when you run out of stuns or can't get behind your target to mutilate is to ghost strike, shiv your way to 5 deadlies and five combo points, and then envenom their face off. Then go back to stun and mutilate, rinse repeat, you get the idea. Eviscerate is only good if you know it'll drop someone and you don't have deadlies up, talented envenom is better in every way, even against talented eviscerate. Poison damage (evenom) has no armor mitigation. Meaning it does instant fuck damage instead of mild foreplay and akward feelings (eviscerate). That's how you work. This is also why you get a dagger with 1.30-1.40 offhand attack speed. Shiv does wonders. Also, grab a Blade of Unquenched Thirst for your way to 70. It's the best offhand your rogue could use for the time being until you come across crack epics, beacuse of the healing proc on it. Here's why:
You are not a mutilate, poison, or assassination specced rogue. You're a healing spec rogue. Grab a warlord's deck and get the Heroism card from the darkmoon faire, despite any trinket in the game, keep this on you for all enternity, even if you don't use it. Grab the Mark of Conquest from the Zangarmarsh pvp vendor and hold on to it for all time too. When you get amazing weapons you'll use for a long time, get lifesteal enchants on them. If you want, grab a life gain on hit gem and socket it on yourself. If you see a better dagger than what you use with the gives life on hit proc, grab it. It's your job. The effect from all of this is that the more you hurt, the more you heal. The problem that rogues mainly have against druids or the like is that everything else can heal and they can't. Not when you use this equipment. It's comparable to having renew on you at all times during a fight. Also, the only pair of gloves you should ever aim for are gladiatior's leather. They're not the best, but the equip effect that makes Deadly Throw makes it so overpowered I want to shit my pants. That will be how you kill casters, for it is great and terrible and will make you master of your domain. You'll love me later.
Now, to make things easier I'm including a screenshot of what my UI looks like and how my keybindings are. Also as such, buy this:
www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826104178
It's 40 dollars for a reason, that reason is because it is great.
See that? That's an eight button mouse. That will be the reason you win at any game you play. Be it FPS or RPG, strategy or whatever. With this mouse you will win the world with keybindings and greatness of speed. You'll have to nerf the mouse speed in every game you play though, that is the only con about this mouse. It's too fast if you don't adjust it.
Now, here's a screenshot of the keybindings and their explanations:
i3.photobucket.com/albums/y57/Stiltz/Stealthbar.jpg
*= Missing macro due to level. v is shiv. s-M4 is deadly throw.
**= What's this? Why is V bound to a key? It's uneasy to touch with your finger and makes me angsty to think about it. Well, here's why. V is bound to nameplates. Name plates are useless. If you want them on turn them on, if you want them off do that. This key is better served to the top button above the mouse wheel on the Mx518 mouse. I call that the spam button. It's the easiest button to hit. Also as such, the buttons 4, 9, M5, and M4 are bound to the mouse. M5 is the side button closest to the left click. M4 is the button below it. s-M5/M4 means to use shift as a modifier for more button bindings to those keys. These are easy to use and make you work twice as fast as someone who's clicking. #4 is the button directly under the mouse wheel and #9 is the button below that. Those are slice and dice and expose armor. You can use different keys, I just felt these were the least used keys I'd ever touch and bound them to my mouse. Use the same button bindings though, they're efficient.
Now, stealth is bound to the number 1 due to ease. The number 2 pick pocket/ghost strike because it's off the main board where your fingers rest and ghost strike won't be used as much as others. Q is ambush/mutilate. Remember, QQ = I hurt. E is bound to sap/kidney shot. It's easy to mash while moving and won't auto-kidney shot someone out of sap the way other keybindings will. R is Kick. Rebind your auto-reply button to T. Middle mouse is garrote/gouge. This works for two reasons: Garrote needs to be behind, gouge in front. Odds are you won't waste a gouge by using this keybinding, and if your garrote misses, hey, keep mashing, you'll gouge them. F is feign, easy to access, easy to remember.
I don't bind any other keys, simply for the reason that sometime you accidentally hit the wrong bindings on exciting one on one battles.
Poisons: I carry with me at all times:
80 Flash powders
80 Blind powders
20 Instant Poisons
20 Mindnumb poisons
40 Deadly poisons
40 Crippling poisons
40 Wound poisons
Wound poisons are better than instants for mutilate spec rogues. They stick, they do damage (less), and they prevent people from being able to heal. If I'm not 70, I use double deadlies more than not for envenom, but after you get shiv:
In order most used from mainhand to offhand:
Cripple and Deadly
Wound and Deadly
Wound and Cripple
Wound and Mindnumb
Instant poisons are for farming. Notice I don't include anesthetic poisons? That's because they suck.
Interface: This is my current interface. It is mostly completed, being 99% done. The 1% is tweaks I make as time goes by. I will host it soon, but not till I'm sure of it's perfection. It is a universal UI, as such, it works with every class perfectly, but it's prime shining example is for hunter and rogue, my two love children.
i3.photobucket.com/albums/y57/Stiltz/WoWScrnShot_030207_213502.jpg
Some things aren't showing, like cast bars and mutilate crit's text, and the other goods. But everything is setup for rogue easy. Giant combo points, giant debuffs under the target so you can read your deadly stacks, target frame coloring for debuff (you know when they get poisoned to mutilate them), all is good, all is well. Makes you drool for it, doesn't it? Yes, it is bukkake with buttons and bars, but it's worth it. A basic UI may have more screen space on it, and could be recommened, but this is the interface for a basement virgin who wants to win at games. All in all, it's great to work with.
And now, my final piece of advice, the one lone piece that makes or breaks a rogue~
Metal.
Metal?
Metal.
Not just any metal. Finnish melodic death metal.
But why, Jinjiro? Why?
Because it makes you angry, and if you are angry, then the people you fight will be sad. And if the people you fight are sad, you will win.
If you fight a rogue listening to Fall Out Boy's Dance Dance against a rogue listening to Kalmah's Heroes To Us, the rogue listening to Fall Out Boy will lose, because he wouldn't be filled with the piss and vinegar of metal. You don't need to understand the words being yelled at you, the wailing guitars will make you want to destroy the opposite faction because they don't have flames of anger and fury rolling off of them the way you do. And your fury is much greater with the aid of metal, as such, just for chuckles, these are some bands to pick up if you wish to bring the love child of metal into your house. Now as a quick precaution, your friends and family may try and convert you with religion because of music this extreme, but don't worry. You're already Godless heathen sinner. You play Warcraft after all, they can shove off. <3
The most metal bands I listen to are as follows:
Arch Enemy
Kalmah
Norther
Children of Bodom
In Flames
If you can tell me of a metal so good that I like it and roguelist it, I'll love you.
I'm always open to new things and new metal is always a joyous day in my life.
The most common songs I rogue in the night to are these, this will give you a good guide to experiment with if you will:
Arch Enemy: Pilgrim
Arch Enemy: Leader of the Rats
Arch Enemy: Silverwing (Warsong Gulching song)
Arch Enemy: Starbreaker (cover)

Professional Murder Music: Painkiller Introduction (techno)
In Flames: Only For The Weak
final fantasy: do you love
final fantasy: song song song

Boots Randolph: Yakety Sax
Blood Hound Gang: Lift Your Head Up High
Ellis Dee: Junglist Warrior (Junglist (techno drums)
Mindless Self Indulgence: Bring the Pain (Jungle pop pussy punk (don't ask me))

And lastly, though it's not on my rogue list, you will be a greater person once you hear:
Detroit Grand Pubahs: We Can Make Sandwiches
(possibly Grand Detroit Pubahs if search results find nothng)
Last but not least:
DISCOURAGE THY ENEMY
For every opposing faction member you don't kill, Hitler smiles and gets a cookie.
For every lowbie you don't kill into submission, warlocks get another fear cast.
Killing your enemies into depression and angst isn't enough.
YELL YOUR VICTORY IN THEIR FACES:
projectazeroth.xwiki.com/xwiki/bin/view/Main/
Make your own cross-faction taunts!
My most used horde expression is "g g no kil l"
My most used alliance one is "Me lo ve y o u" (Gi Ui 72 o k p)
Now you know why I win all the time and am totally awesome.
Perhaps, with time, you can be this amazing too.
I can honestly say that if I wasn't mutilate spec I would be using hemo swords. But sword specs are for whores, harlots, and sinners. And though I may be such, it's a dirty sinner two button easy mode spec. Mutilate is the greatest spec of destruction. Mutilate is for men, hence why the word mutilate begins with m. M is manliness. Go read Maddox's Alphabet of Manliness. I did, it changed my life. After reading that book my balls dropped a second time.
Use this guide well, and go with much hate.
